Driving Requirements

• 23 year old minimum
• At least 2 years OTR driving experience
• No serious violations within 3 years.
• No DOT-recordable accidents
• Less than 2 moving violations with 12 months and less than 4 moving violations in 36 months.
• Completed application with 10 years of verifiable work history (including non-driving positions)
• Proof of Occupational Accident insurance (naming Smith Transportation, Inc. as an additional insured). If you do not carry Occupation Accident insurance, we will obtain coverage on your behalf.
• Copies of drivers license, social security card, medical card & long form medical.
• Activated nationwide cell phone.

Truck Requirements

• Copy of 2290
• Copy of title (front and back)
• Annual DOT inspection & VIN verification if not a Kansas title
• Proof of previous registration
• Bill of Sale
• Proof of Physical Damage and Non-Trucking liability (bobtail) insurance (naming Smith Transportation, Inc. as an additional insured). If you do not carry Physical Damage and NTL insurance, we will obtain a policy on your behalf
